Town by town
Housing stock changes a lot across the peninsula, and so does the right window and door specification. These pages cover what we actually come across in each town.
Birkenhead's streets are built up tight, with long rows of Victorian and early twentieth century terraces standing shoulder to shoulder. A lot of the original timber sash and casement frames in these houses have been replaced more than once over the decades, and we're often called in to put right draughty or poorly fitted work from a previous job as much as to renew tired original frames.
Windows and doors in BirkenheadWallasey sits with much of its housing facing out towards the Mersey estuary and the river, and that north facing exposure shapes how well windows and doors hold up over time. Between the older Victorian and Edwardian terraces near the front and the wider interwar semis further back from the water, we see a real mix of properties, all needing frames that can cope with wind and driving rain off the water.
Windows and doors in WallaseyWest Kirby's setting right on the estuary means many of its period homes and larger seafront properties face a level of salt air exposure that few other Wirral towns share. Owners here tend to want a quality finish that still looks like traditional timber, without the maintenance headaches that come with fittings that corrode or frames that swell in the damp.
Windows and doors in West KirbyHoylake sits right on the open coast, and its older centre is full of period homes with frontages that look straight out towards the sea. That kind of direct exposure puts real demand on window and door hardware, which is why marine grade fittings and carefully sealed frames matter more here than almost anywhere else on the Wirral.
Windows and doors in HoylakeHeswall's mix of larger detached houses, many sitting on sloping plots with views out across the estuary, tends to bring a different kind of enquiry than the terraced streets closer to the water. Homeowners here are usually thinking about bigger glazed openings, bifold or sliding doors onto a garden or terrace, and getting more use out of a conservatory rather than replacing a single tired window.
Windows and doors in HeswallBebington has a real mix of building periods within a short walk of each other, from interwar bay fronted semis to larger detached houses and pockets of older property. We work with whatever era of house you have, matching new windows to the proportions the original builder intended.
Windows and doors in BebingtonMoreton sits low and flat close to the coast, which means homes here take a fair bit of wind and driving rain that older frames struggle with over time. We fit practical, well sealed windows and doors that keep costs sensible without cutting corners on the parts that matter.
Windows and doors in MoretonA lot of the double glazing fitted across Bromborough's post-war estates decades ago is now reaching the end of its life, and we see plenty of misted units and stiff opening mechanisms as a result. We replace this first generation glazing with modern units and, where the whole frame has gone, full replacement windows and doors.
Windows and doors in BromboroughChester covers a wide span of building styles, from Victorian and Georgian era houses near the centre through to comfortable suburban semis and newer estates further out. We travel out from our Wirral base to survey and fit across the city, working with each style of property on its own terms.
Windows and doors in ChesterMost of Ellesmere Port is twentieth century estate housing and semis sitting on flat, exposed ground near the estuary, and for a lot of homeowners the main driver for new windows and doors is simple: cutting the draughts and the heating bill. We keep specifications honest and pricing straightforward.
