Bay window replacement

Bay Window Replacement on the Wirral and in Chester

Square, splayed and bow bays replaced in uPVC, aluminium or timber, with the structure above properly supported and a 10 year insurance-backed guarantee on the installation.

How it works

From Survey to Finished Bay

  1. 1. Free survey

We measure every frame in the bay and look at what the bay is carrying above it, the condition of the sill, and the brickwork and pointing around it, so nothing is left to be discovered on the day.

  2. 2. Structural support checked

Most bays carry load from the wall or roof above. Corner posts are specified to carry that load down to the sill, and temporary props hold the structure while the old frames come out and the new ones go in.

  3. 3. Fixed written quote

You get one written price covering frames, glazing and any bay roof work agreed at survey. No hard sell and no figures that change once we start.

  4. 4. Fitting day

Our own installers, never subcontracted, remove the old bay, fit the new frames and seal everything. A straightforward bay usually takes one day; allow two to three if the bay roof is being replaced as well.

Bay Shapes We Replace

Square bays

Project at right angles from the wall. Common on Wirral semis and terraces.

Splayed bays

Side panels angled at 30 to 45 degrees, with more angled joints to get right.

Bow windows

Four or five narrower units on a gentle curve, often seen on older Chester terraces.

Frames and glass. A-rated double glazing as standard with triple glazing available, internally beaded frames and multi-point locking, in white, anthracite, black, cream or woodgrain. Glazing is kept consistent across every pane, and toughened or laminated glass is often specified for the lower panes.

Bay roofs. Where the bay has its own small roof, it can be replaced with insulated panels and properly dressed leadwork at the same time, since access is already open.

Rough prices. A straightforward uPVC square bay with no roof work typically runs from around £2,200 to £3,800. A bow window with a full insulated roof replacement can range from roughly £3,500 to £6,500 or more. Your survey gives the fixed figure.
