Aluminium windows

Aluminium Windows Supplied and Fitted Across the Wirral

Slim, strong frames that let in more light, finished in the colour you choose and fitted by our own installers. If you want the most glass and the least frame, aluminium is usually the answer, and we will tell you honestly if uPVC or timber would suit your house better.

Who aluminium windows suit

Aluminium is a rigid metal, so the frames can be much narrower than uPVC or timber while still holding large panes of glass securely. That is why our Aluminium Slimline range is aimed at contemporary properties: modern extensions, rear elevations facing the garden, wide picture windows and homes where the view matters more than the frame around it.

It also pairs naturally with aluminium bifold and sliding doors. When the windows and doors on a new extension share the same slim profile and colour, the whole elevation reads as one clean design rather than a mix of products.

Warm frames, not cold metal

Older aluminium windows earned a reputation for being cold and running with condensation. Modern domestic aluminium avoids that with a thermal break, a strip of low conductivity material between the inside and outside of the frame. We only recommend thermally broken aluminium for homes, combined with A-rated double glazed units, so the window keeps heat in and meets building regulations for replacement work.

If you want to go further, triple glazing can be specified, and our double versus triple glazing guide explains when the extra cost earns its keep.

Styles and openings

Aluminium can be made in most of the opening styles we fit in other materials, so you are not limited to one look. At survey we agree which panes open, which stay fixed and how the sightlines line up across the elevation.

  • Casement windows, side hung and top hung
  • Fixed picture windows for large areas of glass
  • Tilt and turn windows where inward opening suits the room
  • Flush and slimline profiles for a crisp, modern face
  • Matching aluminium bifold and sliding doors

Colours and finish

Aluminium frames are powder coated rather than foiled. The coating is baked onto the metal, which gives a hard wearing finish and an almost unlimited choice of colours, including anthracite grey, black and softer heritage shades. Dual colour frames, one colour outside and another inside, are also possible, so the room can stay light while the outside matches a darker scheme.

Powder coating resists fading well and is simple to keep clean with warm soapy water. That low upkeep is a real advantage for homes on exposed or coastal sites, where painted timber needs frequent attention.

What happens from survey to fitting

We start with a free survey, measuring every opening and checking the brickwork, sills and any lintels that will carry wider spans of glass. You then receive a fixed written quote that lists the frames, glass and finish. Every window is made to measure from our own figures, and our installers fit them, never subcontractors.

On fitting day the old frames come out carefully, the new windows are fixed, sealed and finished inside and out, and all waste is taken away. Our guide to installation day covers the practical detail of what to expect.

Aluminium, uPVC or timber?

Aluminium usually costs more than uPVC, and for many homes a good uPVC window is the sensible choice. Aluminium earns its place where slim frames, big glass, strong colours or matching bifolds matter. Timber suits period houses, and we restore timber windows or replace them in full. At survey we will talk through all three and put the recommendation in writing, so you can decide without pressure.

Questions

Common Questions

Are aluminium windows warm enough for a house?

Yes, when they have a thermal break. We only recommend thermally broken aluminium for homes, fitted with A-rated double glazing.

Do you fit aluminium windows across the whole Wirral?

Yes. We fit across the Wirral, Chester and roughly 30 miles around. Call 07950 872341 or use the form to book a free survey.

What colours do aluminium windows come in?

Almost any colour, because the frames are powder coated. Anthracite grey and black are popular, and dual colour frames are available.

Are aluminium windows more expensive than uPVC?

Generally yes. Aluminium is usually chosen for slim frames, large glass or strong colours, and we will tell you honestly if uPVC would do the job for less.

Can aluminium windows match my bifold doors?

Yes. We supply aluminium bifold and sliding doors as well, so frames and colours can match across the whole elevation.
